Held on the first Sunday of each month (except for Jan) 9am-1pm. The Tallarook Farmers Market, accredited with the Victoria Farmers market Association, is located in the pretty country town of Tallarook. Now well established, the market boasts a variety of local produce, including fresh fruit and vegetables, locally raised beef and lamb, wine, olive products and many others. Visitors will also find fresh coffee and hot food to sustain them as they shop.
Less than an hour from Melbourne’s Northern suburbs, the Tallarook Farmers Market is an easy drive up the Hume Highway. Take the Tallarook exit. If you are travelling by train, the market is just a short walk from the Tallarook station. Tallarook is on the Seymour line. The market is located in and around the historic Mechanics Institutes Hall. Carefully restored and with a new lease of life, the hall also hosts art exhibitions, musical performances and other cultural events.
